A stunning cut and such a great look for Rihanna

In first picture the real trend is the long top and side swept bangs.  Very hot right now.  Also note the long hair in front of the ears.  Yes I will say it – it’s a long version of the Justin Bieber!!

In the other two pictures, the hair is all pushed back away from the face and that’s the real trend.  It’s important to note that all of these styles actually require some work at home.  This hair has strong lines and so does today’s modern eyewear for men.  All over the place trendsetters are wearing glasses with really thick, strong lines.  To make that work you need hair that has a lot of style.

The last picture is an exaggerated version of a style that I have talked about before.  Last years long bangs are being gelled and combed up and away from the face.

We are seeing a lot of side swept hair with tumbling waves (an elegant look that can also be carefree and more casual):

There is a definite shift for men’s hair.  Instead of hair coming forward we are seeing hair with a bit of volume in the bangs and combed away from the face.  I first noticed it at the Royal Wedding.  David Beckham had such a great hairstyle.  He looked so polished and his hair was impeccable.

At the Grammy’s Ryan Seacrest was sporting the same look (and while he looked good, he’s no David Beckham!)

Note the low and very definite side part and the front is combed up and back, slightly to the side.

If you want to do this look at home remember to make the part go straight back to the crown.  This will help keep the crown flat which will enhance the height at the front.  To get this look you need the sides and back cut short with length left at the top.  Use a gel like Wella’s Texturizer before you comb your hair.  Leave and go – no blow drying.  The nice thing about Texturizer is that it won’t dry hard but will give nice hold.  This is a very dapper elegant look for a man wearing a beautiful suit or just trying to dress up jeans and a blazer.

Check out Bruno Mars at the Grammy’s.  He is sporting the rock star version of this hairstyle.  The texture of his hair doesn’t allow him to have length and flatness at the crown so he just did not part it.  Also being a rock star allows him to have the haute couture version of this style and look perfectly polished.  Note the Ray Bans, perfect suit and no tie!!  His performance was a great as his suit!!
